John Newman and Rudimental concert in Palma
John Newman and Rudimental DJ will lead a free concert at Parc de la Mar in Palma, Mallorca, on 5 September as part of the Mare de Déu de la Salut patronal celebrations. Palma City Council said the event will run from 7pm until 2am on 6 September.
The line-up also includes Freenipples, Álex Losa, Isaac Indart and Lady Gosya, artists connected with the Balearic Islands’ electronic and music scene. It will be the second year that the concert has been held as part of the celebrations.
Stage and event arrangements
The stage will measure 18 metres wide and 12 metres deep, with 240 square metres of screens as well as professional sound and lighting equipment.
Traffic will again be closed on the Paseo Marítimo for the event. Glass containers will not be permitted, food trucks will be installed, and there will be a designated area for people with reduced mobility. The council also plans additional cleaning and public-security measures.
Last year's attendance
More than 32,000 people attended last year’s concert, according to Lourdes Roca, Palma City Council’s councillor for citizen participation. She said the event passed without incidents and in a positive atmosphere.
The council says it aims to strengthen the Mare de Déu de la Salut festivities and establish them more firmly in Palma’s cultural and festive calendar.
