Mallorca fashion show: five graduate collections

Five fashion collections take to the catwalk in Palma, Mallorca, on 25 September as the Balearic Islands School of Design (ESDIB) celebrates its 2022–2026 graduating class. The ceremony starts at 19.30 in the auditorium of the Higher Conservatory of the Balearic Islands. Final projects from the school’s different courses will also be displayed in the conservatory’s shared spaces.

The graduation honours students completing product, fashion, graphic and interior design courses. ESDIB director Inma Candela and a student representative will speak before the diplomas are handed out by product design coordinator Arkaitz Arco, fashion design coordinator Elena Segura, graphic design coordinator Beatriz Cascante and Toni Riera, head of studies and interior design lecturer.

The catwalk show brings landscape, memory and identity into fashion. Ana Noriega Chaves’ spring-summer 2027 collection, QI, explores the link between body, energy and nature through organic fabrics, natural dyes and craft processes. Blanca Ameller’s Abraçada a la tradició draws on Mallorca as described by Archduke Ludwig Salvator, with the Serra de Tramuntana and almond blossom shaping its textures and volumes.

Tania Sart’s Entre el cielo y la memoria is a tribute to people who have died, built around melancholy, grief and remembrance. Marina Amer’s Dualidad follows a journey from hiding parts of oneself to freely expressing identity through deconstruction, forms and colours.

Maria Francisca Rosselló presents six looks in Blanc Polar, inspired by the changing form of glaciers. Structured shapes, transparency, white and blue evoke ice turning into water, while creative reuse, textile leftovers and waste-avoiding processes form part of the collection.
