Mallorca’s Maria del Mar Bonet wins new music honour

Maria del Mar Bonet from Palma, Mallorca, wins one of the Spanish Academy of Music’s first 10 honorary titles. The singer and composer is among those recognised for their contribution to Spanish music, record label Blau Produccions said on 28 October 2026.
The academy’s first group of honorary members spans performers, composers and people working in production, the record industry and music journalism. The other nine are Ana Belén, ‘Berry’ Navarro, Carmen Linares, Diego A. Manrique, Jesús López, Jordi Savall, Maryní Callejo, Raphael and Teresa Catalán.
