Palma Miró Foundation backs contemporary art for 4 years
Palma’s Pilar i Joan Miró Foundation has signed a four-year partnership to strengthen cultural creation and contemporary art in the city. The deal with the Instituto de Arte Contemporáneo (IAC) was signed on Thursday, 3 September. It can be extended for another four years.
A joint commission will track, oversee and monitor how the agreement is carried out. It will include representatives from the Culture Department, the Foundation’s management and the IAC presidency in the Balearics.
The IAC is an independent association of contemporary-art professionals. It works to improve the institutional network for the sector, defend professionals’ rights and promote good practice in museums, art centres and institutions. Its Balearic delegation includes artists, gallery owners, curators and cultural managers.
