Mallorca’s Nit de l’Art opens two Palma shows

Two Mallorcan artists bring new work to the Casal Solleric in Palma on Saturday, as the city marks the 30th Nit de l’Art. Rebeca Morey and Bel Fullana each open an exhibition at the cultural centre. Palma City Council announced the openings on Friday.

Morey’s exhibition, Anatoformes, runs until 22 November. The 22-year-old artist from Palma developed the work with Palma City Council and the university school Adema, drawing on the discovery of anatomy and the shape of things.

She has recently completed the first cycle of Fine Arts studies. Her work won the Nous Talents prize, created by the council and Adema for the best final project in the subject.

Acid-green light work for Bel Fullana show

Fullana’s Club Miseria: The Last Best remains at the Casal Solleric until 7 January. The exhibition extends her Club Miseria project, first shown in 2019, across the courtyard, display case and balcony.

Its new version uses fresh forms of expression through an archaeological capsule that creates an acid-green light installation visible from Passeig del Born. A monumental sculpture will also stand in the Casal Solleric courtyard.

The 41-year-old has previously shown work in Sydney, New York, Athens, Porto, São Paulo and Madrid. In Palma, her art has appeared at Es Baluard, Galeria Fran Reus and L21 Gallery.
