Mallorca: Gesa and dozens more open for Palma tours
Palma, Mallorca, opens its old Gesa building and dozens of other sites for public visits from 9 to 15 November 2026. The Open House Palma programme includes former cinemas and historic buildings where access is normally restricted. Walks, talks and a free concert are also planned.
Behind doors usually closed
The Gesa building is awaiting restoration. Visitors can also see the former Metropolitan cinema in Pere Garau and the former Rosales cinema in Coll d’en Rabassa. La Seu cathedral, the Palacio March and the Llotja are among the other stops.
Water shapes the week
This year’s theme, ‘Ciutat d’Aigua’ or ‘City of Water’, links architecture with water. Walks through El Molinar, El Jonquet and Son Gotleu explore neighbourhoods whose histories are tied to it, according to the organisers. Visits to mills and the Arab Baths are also planned, including a guided tour of the mill dels Dimonis near La Real on 10 November.
Can Balaguer hosts a talk on architecture and water on 12 November. Its courtyard then hosts Arannà and DJ and producer Prof. Mullet from 20.00 on 13 November. Admission to the concert is free.
