Mallorca’s Palau des Consell in Palma opens its council chamber to opera singers on Friday, with rock and choral concerts to follow in November. The island council, Consell de Mallorca, is bringing back its Concerts a Palau series after what it calls a good response to the first edition.

The opening concert, Calidoscopi musical, brings together soloists from the Cercle Líric Balear, the Orfeó de Mallorca and a pianist. They will perform unaccompanied pieces as well as arias and duets with piano.

On 13 November, Algaida band T-Makers will play rock influenced by the 1950s and 1960s. The Coral Sor Francinaina follows on 20 November with sacred and secular choral music, including traditional Mallorcan pieces. Soprano Raquel Llera and pianist Daniel Mulet perform on 21 November, with a programme that includes opera arias, zarzuela and Catalan songs.
