Mallorca’s Sóller puts modernist heritage on film
In Sóller, Mallorca, a project with a budget of more than €379,000 puts the town’s modernist heritage on screen: it presents a documentary on Tuesday, 20 October 2026, during Les Journées del Modernisme de Sóller. The film is part of Sóller Modernista, a project by the Council of Mallorca and Sóller town council to help local people and visitors discover that heritage. The Council of Mallorca says European sustainable tourism funds are paying for it.
There is more to see than the best-known buildings. Modernist details appear on façades and doors, in stained glass and tiles, and in railings and sculptures around Sóller.
The project also includes a website, an app, a guide to a modernist route, more videos and information materials. Signs will help people identify architectural details and learn about them in different languages. The aim is to make those familiar streets easier to read, while preserving their place in Sóller’s history.
