Mallorca's Son Gotleu festival draws island-wide crowd

Mallorca’s Son Gotleu neighbourhood in Palma draws people from across the island to its first intercultural festival: local talent shares the stage with artists and musicians from different backgrounds. Organiser Asociación Cultural Sikanam reported the strong turnout on Monday, 28 September, after the event had ended.

The programme brought together contributions from Senegal, China, Morocco, Colombia and Ecuador, as well as African and Mallorcan culture. Artists, musicians, associations and community groups took part, alongside young talent from Son Gotleu.

Sikanam says it has used music to connect cultures since 2009. It hopes the festival will help people get to know one another and build mutual respect. The association thanked local people, the artists and Palma City Council for its support and presence.
