Palma bars: Teatre de Barra brings five 80s plays

Five short plays inspired by the 1980s arrive at restaurants around Blanquerna and 31 de Diciembre in Palma on Thursday, 17 September. Teatre de Barra will run on six consecutive Thursdays, with performances between 19.30 and 21.30. The final takes place on 24 October at the Teatre Municipal Maruja Alfaro Mar i Terra.

The programme includes Berlin 89 by Alfonso Morillas, Sa gàbia enganadora by Bernat Molina and No controles by Pablo Valera. Jingles is by David Mataró, while Marga Arrom wrote and directs Wall & Cass.

Ca na Mercy, S'Amagatall, Bar Mavi, Hotel Ars Magna and Restaurante Udon are among the venues. Palma City Council says the competition’s second edition this year is a stage tribute to the 1980s, and that Teatre de Barra has become a regular fixture in the city’s cultural calendar.
