Palma's Teatre de Barra brings five 80s plays to venues

Five short plays inspired by the 1980s arrive at food-and-drink venues around Blanquerna and 31 de Diciembre in Palma this Thursday, 17 September. Teatre de Barra will stage them on six consecutive Thursdays, from 19.30 to 21.30, with the final on 24 October at the Teatre Municipal Maruja Alfaro Mar i Terra. Palma City Council describes this year’s second competition as a stage tribute to the decade.

The line-up features Berlin 89 by Alfonso Morillas, Sa gàbia enganadora by Bernat Molina and No controles by Pablo Valera. Also on the bill are David Mataró’s Jingles and Wall & Cass by Marga Arrom.

Ca na Mercy, S'Amagatall, Bar Mavi, Hotel Ars Magna and Restaurante Udon are among the venues hosting the performances. After several editions, Teatre de Barra has become a fixture in Palma’s cultural calendar, according to the council.
