Mallorca’s Vilafranca de Bonany hosts 46 shows from 21 to 25 October as a theatre festival for children and young people gets under way. Aboon Teatre opens the Balearic Children’s and Youth Theatre Fair, known as FIET, with Porta’m a casa. The Island Council of Mallorca says 45 companies are taking part.

The programme also brings dance, circus and puppetry to audiences of all ages. It includes four world premieres, three national premieres and 23 productions being shown in the Balearics for the first time. Companies come from across Spain, as well as France, Denmark and Brazil; Balearic companies are also presenting work.

This year’s fair has more performances for teenagers and very young children, alongside school shows and productions for different generations. The council has given organiser Sa Xerxa de Teatre Infantil i Juvenil de Balears €50,000 a year since 2024 to support the fair.

Cucorba closes the programme on Sunday 25 October. The group is in the final phase of its stage career.
