A €1,500 art prize goes to a Menorcan artist on Mallorca: Marina Enrich Genestar, known as Marina E.G., wins the Art Jove 2026 visual arts contest with ‘Una protesta d'amor’. The final took place on Friday in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, Mallorca, as part of BrodArt 2026. Prize money and exhibitions
Marina E.G. also receives €3,000 to fund her participation in the Art Pertot cultural exchange programme. She can show her work at the Inund'Art festival in Girona in March 2027 and in a group exhibition at the Casa de la Catalanitat in Perpignan in January 2028.
Mallorcan artist Josep Alorda takes second prize and €1,000 for his audiovisual installation ‘Sa meva padrina brodava’. Samuel Díaz, also from Mallorca, wins third prize and €500 for ‘El fil invisible’.
Embroidery across the town
BrodArt 2026, backed by the Museu del Brodat i el Teixit de Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, explores links between traditional craft, design and contemporary art. The seven Art Jove finalists approach embroidery, shared memory, craft and changes to the landscape through painting, photography, sculpture, audiovisual installations and performance.
Their selected works are on display in different spaces around Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, linking the town’s textile heritage with new art.
