Mallorca tapas contest: 20 creations vie for two titles

Mallorca’s tapas contest: 20 creations compete for two titles at the Palacio de Congresos in Palma, Mallorca, on 2 November. Ten entries vie for the Tapa TaPalma title and ten for the Tapa Sobrassada de Mallorca IGP title. Organisers AgenciaCom and Restauración Mallorca Caeb said on Monday that the Sobrassada category will go first.

The contest aims to put Mallorca at the centre of Spanish food, the organisers say. Silvia Terradas, from the tasting panel of the Sobrassada de Mallorca IGP regulatory council, said it would show the different ways the product can be used in cooking.

After the contest, TaPalma moves into restaurants. From 4 to 8 November, 41 restaurants will take part in the TaPalma Mallorca 2026 route, including Buscando el Norte, La Mona Vermutería and Restaurante Terra.
