Climate in Montuïri — on the ridge of the southern Plà
Montuïri sits on a prominent ridge at 153 meters above sea level — the small town is visible from miles away, and the windmills along the crest are a landmark of the southern Plà de Mallorca. This elevated, exposed position has a real effect on the climate: compared to lower-lying inland towns, Montuïri is somewhat more open to the wind, which can bring welcome relief in summer but also means colder gusts in winter.
